September 12 Start Date

More Boxes!

Children's Director
Ever since we made the announcment to start a new church, God has given us surprizes on a weekly basis.  It's like opening a surprize gift box each week.  It is super exciting!

This week's surprize came in the form of a family that will be instrumental in leading the children's department. The Farr family have committed to get fully engaged in following God down that narrow path called God's will.

Jeanette Farr will be a great asset as the children's director. She has experience, ideas, a heart for God, she's a prayer warrior, a soul winner, she loves people, an organizer, and she's never short on enthusiasm for the things of the Lord.

Student Ministry
Our youth department will be led by Eddie and Teresa Brazell.  We're excited about the Eddie and Teresa and their boys coming over to lead and steer our young people towards purpose in life, Christian maturity, and have activities that will be fun, exciting, adventureous, life learning, and most of all be loved by a great family.

Music Ministry
Our music will be spearheaded by Devon Shelton.  Devon has years of special music experience.  He's been preparing for the challenge of providing music that will lead the congregation to worship.  Devon has a deep love for our Lord. He desire is to things that will be pleasing unto our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.  Still others will be joining the music team.

Celebrate Recovery
Here is a ministry that will reach out in our community through music, friendships and things formally in common.  This is one ministry that I personally believe takes it literally when the Bible says "go out the to the highways and hedges and compel them to come into the house of the Lord".  Dan and Cassie Marshall will begin taking the lead in forming a core group to meet on Friday nights.  Celebrate Recovery is a step process that ministers to anyone who might be in bondage with "hurts, habits, and hang-ups".  This ministry is designed to help people achieve victory and be freed from their harmful lifestyles.

Cottage Prayer Meetings
We had our first prayer meeting on Monday night July 23 at the home of John and Ruth Heacock. John and Ruth live behind where the church is located literally.

We encourage people to join in and pray for the new work. This is a great way to meet Journey's family.  Next week, the prayer meeting will be at Pastor Hector's home.  We will meet at 6:30 PM at 185 Sherwood Drive, Lexington.  Map Link: http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2.00&&cp=33.93891636282204~-81.28126233816147&lvl=13&sty=r&rtp=pos.33.968309_-81.263223_415%20Barr%20Rd%2C%20Lexington%2C%20SC%2029072-2371___e_~pos.33.909522_-81.299252_185%20Sherwood%20Dr%2C%20Lexington%2C%20SC%2029073-8773___e_&mode=D&rtop=0~0~0~&encType=1
